Story

Hey, it's the real Jesu Moratiel.
I work around many concepts I use to think when I am alone. For example,
I work around skins.
These you can change in the internet and videogames.
Through iteration processes.
I use to wrap bodies and objects giving them new meaning.
I also try to unwrap them from the meaning they had before.
My Spotify bodies started as a way to express that feeling when you are in a concert, or in a club, and you deeply feel the music flowing down your skin.
So it's about synesthesia.
Many other skins came after that one.
My method use to be related with visual ecuations. For example A+B+C=D, where A is a shape, B is the texture and C is the way light is positioned in the space and in relation with the scene.
But there are also many other factors I use to care about. For example. Composition. I use to cut the shape both on the top and the bottom of the figure. I like close-ups. It's not only an aesthetical decision. It's also an attitude about life. Its a very Galician way of understand reality. A way to stay focus and go deeper.
I also use to contrast concepts. Like monochrome minimal backgrounds (usually white as the light of the screens) with very detailed textures, that are almost, deliverated horror vacui.

This is my Manifesto as creator.
- MANIFESTO - Labs Moratiel -

1.- Always offer the best you can give to others. And that is your creativity.
2.- Creativity isn’t what you offer empirically; it’s the ingredient you must put into everything you want to offer.
3.- Your creativity is the tool that will solve all your problems if they have a solution.
4.- Be ambitious when building, as that is the way to bring true value to others.
5.- Don’t always strive to be the most original. You’ll never fully achieve it.
6.- Your work is not finished until the work is actually finished.
7.- Don’t try to conform to political correctness. People get offended easily, and good taste is creativity’s greatest enemy.
8.- Stay updated on technological advancements and implement the latest tools at your disposal, even if that means going back to something from the past, and even if those around you don’t understand or see it as pretentious. Fear of novelty is part of human nature, and progress will always face a majority of detractors. But it’s the only way to stay competitive and offer the best to others.
9.- When creating something new, 70% of the time, follow the MAYA rule: “most advanced, yet acceptable.”
10.- Dangers:
- Energy takers vs. energy givers
- Bureaucracy
- Personal ambition
- Knowing our own weaknesses
- Not putting too much on the plate
11.- Our business is change.
12.- Stay on the offensive. All the time.
13.- Don’t fear being weird or cringe; it’s a sign of bravery. But don’t force it unnecessarily.
14.- Perfect results matter, not the perfect process.
15.- Don’t fear darkness or light, or deep concepts, even if ordinary people find them hard to digest. We all have darkness and light within, and what separates ordinary people from those who are not is the ability to express it.
16.- Assume nothing.
17.- Push yourself and push others’ limits.
18.- This will be as much a battle as a business.
19.- Success is the consequence of creating beautiful things. Always care more about the latter than the former.
20.- It won’t be pretty.
21.- Live off the land.
22.- Stay true to these principles and always keep them in mind.
